Wine Enthusiast 91pt

Soft and velvety in texture, this wine is full of ripe fruit. Cushioned by the texture, the tannins are dense enough to promise aging to this wine with potential.

Decanter 90pt

A fairly classic Castillon, dark berry fruits on the attack with brighter raspberry and redcurrant notes coming in through the mid palate giving lift and definition. Tannic hold, some smoked grilled oak notes. Attractive. Owned by the same family for 600 years, today headed up by Jean de Boigne, the 26th generation of his family at the estate.

James Suckling 91pt

Aromas of berries and mushrooms with some fresh herbs. Some currants, too. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. 75% merlot, 23% cabernet franc and 2% malbec. Very drinkable now, but will age beautifully. Best after 2023.

by James Suckling, 2022

Vinification

Traditional vinification, control of temperature, fermentation under 28/30 C., 3 weeks of maceration.

Winemaker

Neat and deep color. Nice nose with hint of red fruits. Full mouth with a long final and steel unmelted tannins.

Ageing

Aged 12 months... Merlot: In French Oak Barrels. Cabernet franc and Malbec: In stainless steel vats to keep fruit.
