This effusively aromatic Chardonnay opens with crushed slate and lime aromas that mingle with smoky flint and white flowers. The palate offers up electric green mangoes, lemon grass and sea spray salinity. The Dundee Reserve Chardonnay is from the estate Haakon/Lenai vineyard a blend of two Dijon clones, 76 and 95.

From 27-year-old vines, the 2022 Chardonnay Dundee Reserve is a bright silver straw hue and has a light reductive note, as well as notes of fresh alpine herbs, citrus pith, quince, green apple, and wet stone. Medium-bodied, it is refreshing and long on the palate, with a chalky texture, clean lift, and a long, even finish.

Notes of mangoes, peaches and sliced pears with hints of honeysuckle, walnuts and pastry crust. Medium- to full-bodied, vivid and juicy with some chalkiness. Fresh and mouthwatering. Drink or hold.

The Dundee Hills are alive with the scent of this wine. Golden Delicious apple and earthy hyacinth aromas fill the air, along with a mineral touch of talc. Then, lemon butter and green tea flavors waltz with notes of almond, peach and basil. Aged in concrete and stainless steel, this is a sleek, acidity-driven beauty.

The 2022 Chardonnay Dundee Hills Reserve comes from Cody and Marque Wright's new Haakon Lenai Vineyard. Fermented and matured in stainless steel, it opens with touches of matchstick and takes some time to reveal scents of yellow apples, meringue, beeswax and almonds. The light-bodied palate features understated, flinty fruit and spicy tones. Its lightly creamy texture is balanced by vibrant acidity, and it has a long, gently leesy finish. It will benefit from a year or two in bottle or some time in a decanter.

This vibrant, refreshing version builds richness and polish as it takes on pear, nectarine and orange blossom accents, which linger at length.
