Description

Hamilton Creek hearkens back to the early pioneers of the Napa Valley. Ambitious and inspired by this idyllic land, Hamilton Creek embodies the best of what Napa Valley has to offer: Quality, Consistency & Balance.

Napa Valley’s climate creates the perfect place to grow wine grapes. Defined by mountain ranges and influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this dry Mediterranean climate is a paradise for winemakers. The long growing season is marked by sunny, warm and dry days followed by cool evenings, an optimal combination for allowing grapes to ripen slowly and evenly.

The wines of Hamilton Creek are crafted to be elegant and approachable yet complex and satisfying. This delicate balance is the result of expert winemaking and a deep understanding of the unique microclimates of the Napa Valley. While delicious on their own, Hamilton Creek wines are also the perfect pairing with any classic dish. They seamlessly blend fruit, acidity and tannin to create a harmonious experience. Tasting notes

Crafted entirely from estate-grown fruit in the heart of Rutherford, Napa Valley, this red blend is both playful and sophisticated. Juicy notes of ripe blackberry and cassis burst on the palate, while hints of tobacco add depth. Petit Verdot lends an elegant floral touch of lavender, and Malbec contributes a lush, juicy character with subtle earthy undertones. The Merlot contributes red fruit tones of raspberry and cherry while the Cabernet Sauvignon serves as the backbone, providing structure and texture that balance the wine’s vibrant personality. This is a red blend designed to delight—a wine with expressive, layered flavors that are both fun and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression long after the final sip.

Vinification

To preserve the purity of the fruit, the grapes were gently destemmed, ensuring only whole berries entered the fermenter. After a five-day cold soak, fermentation was initiated with William Selyem yeast, prized for enhancing fruit-forward expression. The wine spent 15 days on skins, achieving the ideal structure and tannin profile before being drained and pressed. Aged for 18 months in 40% medium-plus toast French oak, this maturation process imparts refined structure, luxurious texture, and a subtle sweetness that enhances the wine’s depth and length.
