The 2022 Matsu La Jefa is Malvasia from the Toro region that was aged for 14 months in large barrels. Yellow in hue, it presents bay leaf, wild herbs and fennel on the nose. The palate is broad and smooth, with a lightly malic profile that sharpens the palate and delivers a persistent herbal finish. Somewhere between a white and a vermouth, its low alcohol leans it back toward wine. Savory and original.
