Decanter 93pt

Spicy and earthy nose, with notes of blackcurrant, dried cranberry, rosemary and cedar wood. Elegant and refined, with polished tannins.
Silver Medal 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards

Jeb Dunnuck 95pt

The first 2018 Millenium of its kind was released from the 1996 vintage in 2000 and comes from one special plot, Vina Alta Cascajo, a distinct spot, flat with sedimentary soils, sand, gravel, and river pebbles. All French oak is used for aging, the only wine from the producer in which this is true, for 26 months in this case. It is a supremely elegant wine of refined tannins, blue fruit, more savory with less salinity, textured and lengthy. It should continue to shine through 2048.

James Suckling 94pt

Complex nose with plenty of sweet spices, pine cones, vanilla and black walnuts to the blackberries and black mushrooms. A hint of bergamot. Tight and creamy on the palate. Don't be put off by the wood tannins if you open it and drink it while it is young. The fine-grained tannins mesh nicely with the full-bodied palate. While this is quite plush with an old-school Ribera del Duero style, the quality is still impressive.

Tim Atkin 95pt

The Fernandez family has always had a well-deserved reputation for making reds that age gracefully in bottle and this Gran Reserva will certainly do that. Matured in new French wood, it's a focused, still youthful style with flavours of cassis and dark chocolate, plenty of chalky freshness and a layered, focused finish.
Top 100 Wines Ribera del Duero 2023

Tasting notes

Fruity aromas and well-integrated wood notes. Perfectly balanced with notes of black fruits such as blackcurrant and blackberry, to which aromas of liquorice and spicy notes are added, intermingling with coffee notes. A broad, full-bodied wine, which fills the palate with its range of flavours and aromas. It has a fine and elegant mouthfeel, is well structured and has tannins that will make this wine continue to develop in the bottle. Ideal for accompanying all kinds of meat such as red meat, white meat and roasts. The perfect accompaniment to game dishes, as well as soups and stews.
