Lightly cooked strawberries and brambleberries with hints of chocolate and pie crust with some cloves. Medium- to full-bodied, this has chewy, fine tannins and a flavorful finish. Some tar undertones. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Pinot Noir is a little reductive upon opening, and the fruit behind is layered with dark cherries, clove, aniseed, dark chocolate and crushed rocks. There is a profusion of forest floor and tapenade as well. In the mouth, the wine is gravelly and lean, chalky and lingering through the long finish. Give it a good decant prior to drinking; it will help loosen the lovely fruit that resides here.

Juicy blackberry, black cherry and Earl Grey flavors show intensity and focus. The tannins are dense but polished, with details of chicory, fennel seed, loamy soil, sage and black pepper that linger.
