James Suckling 93pt

Nice wood spices, white fruit, sour cream, brine and brioche. Creamy yet fresh on the palate, with a medium to full body and a lengthy finish. A nice phenolic grip at the end. Drinkable now, but can hold.

Tasting notes

Sanct Valentin Pinot Grigio was first produced in 1986 when for the first time, after selecting the first grapes from chosen vineyards, it was vinified in small wooden barrels. The expressive Sanct Valentin Pinot Grigio is highly appreciated with its smoothly integrated acidity, strength and fullness. It is one of Italy’s most prized examples of Pinot Grigio and promises an excellent drinking experience even after many years of ageing. This vintage shows fruity aroma of apple, pear, fine vanilla, toasted white bread and hazelnut. It is strong in character, creamy and full-bodied with, pleasant acidity and smoky nuances.
