Product Ratings
James Suckling 92pt

Lemon pith, honeysuckle, lanolin, grapefruit and wet river stones. The midweight palate has a generous, textural mouthfeel and bright acidity, leading into a fruit-driven, powerful finish with finesse. A lovely chardonnay with instant gratification. Drink or hold.

Ageing

Aged 8 to 10 months in stainless vats.

Background

Pouilly-Fuisse is the name of a village in the Maconnais producing highly distinctive Chardonnay wine. The vineyards producing this wine are part of a breath-taking landscape where the limestone and heavy clay soils combine to create a unique 'terroir'.

Food pairing

Pairs with shellfish, charcuterie, skate, reblochon cheese. Serve at a temperature of 10 to 12 degrees celcius.

Soil

Limestone, heavy clay.

Tasting notes

Our Pouilly-Fuisse 2023 has a bright and pale yellow color, with a floral nose of acacia and honeysuckle. Full and round on the palate, it again reveals honeysuckle aromas associated with notes of fresh almond. The finish is long and persistent.

Vinification

Traditional in stainless steel vats, temperature controlled with complete malolactic fermentation.
