Decanter 92pt

Deep ruby in colour with lovely violet reflections. A classic young Medoc mix of black fruits, menthol and austere tannins with good grip, fairly high acidity, plenty of appellation signature and potential. Enjoyable with touches of smoked cedar. An interesting wine because we can taste it now, but it will be held back at the estate and released at a later date, often between 8 and 10 years after harvest. Close to an equal split of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a good dash of Petit Verdot that makes its presence felt.

James Suckling 91pt

Aromas of strawberries, raspberries, dark chocolate, baking spices and charcoal. Medium-bodied with round tannins. Rich and creamy with a vivid finish. 50% merlot, 45% cabernet sauvignon and 5% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

Wine Enthusiast 91pt

From a vineyard at one of the high points of the northern Medoc, this wine is smoothly accessible. Ripe black-currant fruits and smoky tannins give balance and juicy freshness. The wine will age, so wait to drink until 2024.
