Rich, dark-fruited aromas with hints of chocolate, spices and hazelnuts. Medium- to full-bodied, meaty and light yet chewy on the palate, with vivid acidity and good fruit concentration. It has a chalky texture at the end. Merlot, malbec, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.

Estate

Chateau Bellevue is a beautiful estate, built in the XVIIth century by the Lestelle family. One of the most famous owners of the Chateau was Mr. Antoine de Bouire de Veauvallon. Prosecutor of the King in the Parliament of Bordeaux. At the end of the XIXth century, the estate was bought by the Gaboriaud de Latour family. In 1973, Chateau Bellevue is acquired by the Ponton d'Amecourt, an old family from Marne region. The new owners have restructured the vineyard and rennovated the Chateau. Located at 95 metres in height, the Chateau takes its name from his panorama. It offers a beautiful view on the landscape. The terroir of the estate consists of mainly white clay. This is a very qualitative terroir, named terrefort, gives all their character to the wines of Chateau Bellevue. Thanks to an exceptional terroir, a unique know-how and great care, Chateau Bellevue develops a quality wine with complexity.

Tasting notes

At first glance, it makes you want to taste it. On the nose, this wine offers a complex and seductive aromatic bouquet. Aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackcurrant and blackberry are mixed with elegant notes of oak, cedar and vanilla from its aging in with oak. Subtle nuances of spice and tobacco add depth to its aromatic profile. On the palate, Chateau Bellevue reveals a velvety texture and well-integrated tannins, offering a sensation of sweetness and finesse. The black fruit flavors are generously spread, supported by a beautiful freshness and balanced structure. A slight hint of liquorice or chocolate can also be revealed, adding a touch of complexity.

Ageing

18 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks with oak staves.
