James Suckling 98pt

Susana Balbo and her team chose Gualtallary for the Nosotros bottling in this warm vintage. There is huge breadth of complexity to the nose with graphite and tarry black and blue fruit. Dark minerals and a hint of cocoa powder and cigar box. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate with lots of broad-shouldered, fine-grained tannins. Intense, concentrated and incredibly persistent. Minerals in the end.

Wine Spectator 94pt

A real head-turner that develops with air, showing dried violet and dark chocolate notes, with balsam details melding with rich blackberry and plum flavors around a rich, savory core. Picks up mineral nuances and stretches out nicely on the broad finish.

Vinification

Produced from carefully selected clusters from Gualtallary (Uco Valley) at 1,285 meters. Cold maceration for 96 hours. Fermentation in 6500-liter oak casks, with daily pillages. Fermentation temperature of 28-30 ° C., with indigenous yeasts. 45-day extended maceration. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 16 months in 80% new French oak, 20% in second use French oak.

Tasting notes

Deep, intense red color. Aromas of red and black fruits. In the mouth, spicy and with juicy acidity. Vibrant, intense, with elegant tannins and good persistence. Great aging potential. Pair with Grilled or roasted meats like beef, lamb or quail, and pasta with cream-based or spicy sauces.

Estate

Made by famed Argentine winemaker Susana Balbo, Nosotros is one of the few top Argentine Malbecs that combines powerful fruit concentration with balance, grace and refined structure.

Susana Balbo and her team select each harvest's best single vineyard to create the winery's most limited-production wine and one of Argentina's iconic wines: Nosotros Single Vineyard Nomad.

Nosotros means “us” in Spanish, and the wine pays homage to the hard work of the winery team that selects the 40 finest barrels of Malbec from the estate and matures them for 16-18 months in new French oak before bottling. The resulting wine displays saturated deep-purple color, with decadent blackberry pie, plum and vanilla flavors. It is remarkably approachable in its youth, but also rewards cellaring. Only 200 cases are imported to the U.S. each year.
