Hoopes Family Vineyards
Hoopes Family Vineyard is more than just an award-winning winery, it’s a home for the next generation of wine innovators, a sanctuary for local biodiversity, and a hidden destination for Napa travelers. Their philosophy is rooted in authenticity: they are who they say they are, growing soulful, site-specific grapes from their own family land.
Originally founded by Spencer Hoopes before Napa became an internationally acclaimed region, the vineyard is now led by second-generation proprietor Lindsay Hoopes. Spencer’s passion for farming blossomed alongside the valley’s growth; he originally grew grapes for other vintners, quickly earning a reputation for some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in Oakville. When other prestigious labels began asking to use the Hoopes name to authenticate their own high-caliber wines, Spencer decided it was time to let the fruit speak for itself under his own label.
Lindsay officially took the reins in 2012, honoring her father’s heritage while introducing innovative upgrades to the estate. Collaborating with famed winemakers like Aaron Pott, she has expanded the portfolio to include several new vineyards, capturing the diverse nuances of the Napa landscape.
Beyond the bottle, Lindsay has transformed the estate into a regenerative hub. She founded a rescue animal sanctuary, secured organic and sustainability certifications, and created the Oasis by Hoopes, a vibrant space where young wine enthusiasts can immerse themselves in California wine culture.
The Hoopes story also extends into the heart of Yountville at The Coop. What began as a charming little league snack shack is now a "fun taste of Yountville" story, a community farmstand where visitors can grab fresh organic eggs, seasonal produce, and a glass of Hoopes wine. It’s the perfect sidewalk bistro setting to experience Lindsay’s culinary partnerships and her mission to tell the story of the vineyard through the lens of local food.
